Libavá bird area is entirely unique region in Moravia, which is situated in a military trainig area Libavá. Due to the presence of military all the area has very specific natural conditions. First of all this place is uninhabited by people over sixty years and it led to its unpolluted environment and very well preserved natural conditions for many protected species of plants and animals. There is preserved hydrological system, many wetlands and authentic water courses.

Whole the area has many different species of birds, but it is not yet properly mapped. Place is protected because of the presence of the corn crake (Crex crex). Also there is located one of the last moravian populations of the black grouse (Tetrao tetrix). Amongst nesting birds belong the black stork (Ciconia nigra), the European honey buzzard (Pernis apivorus), the lesser spotted eagle (Aquila pomarina, Clanga pomarina), the white-tailed eagle (Haliaeetus albicilla), common species of owls and also the Eurasian eagle-owl (Bubo bubo), the Eurasian pygmy owl (Glaucidium passerinum) and the boreal owl (Aegolius funereus), furthermore the common kingfisher (Alcedo atthis), the grey-headed woodpecker (Picus canus), the black woodpecker (Dryocopus martius), the barred warbler (Sylvia nisoria), the red-backed shrike (Lanius collurio), the red-breasted flycatcher (Ficedula parva) and many others.

From more common species lets mention for example the Eurasian hobby (Falco subbuteo), the common snipe (Gallinago gallinago), the meadow pipit (Anthus pratensis), the whinchat (Saxicola rubetra), the common rosefinch (Carpodacus erythrinus), the corn bunting (Emberiza calandra, Miliaria calandra), the African stonechat or common stonechat (Saxicola torquatus) and the European nightjar (Caprimulgus europaeus).
